LOOKING for a virgin bride?
In China, advertising for one has turned into a controversial mini-industry.
It all began two years ago when Shanghai lawyer He Xin, 25, put such an ad in the newspapers on behalf of his billionaire friend, reported The New York Times.
The prospective groom’s bank account of a billion yuan ($201 million) attracted a flood of 600 applications, complete with photos and detailed personal information.
Mr He whittled the number of candidates down to 100, interviewed 20 and finally selected a wife for his friend.

In this article, apparently there is a controversial lawyer who advertised on behalf of a very rich man with over a billion chinese denominated yuan assets. Even though he is extremely rich, he couldn’t find a girl friend. So this lawyer friend posted on a website asking for virgins who are highly educated and of good characters and background. Over 600 people responded which whittle down to the one winner that eventually became Mrs Billionaire.
Is this a ticket to riches? is this the price of virginity? is this the price that you must be born into a good family? many questions asked. But very little answer. have you looked at the other side of the coin? sure from the story we can see how the groom seems to be up on himself without any verification of the facts but potential brides have to endure examinations of their very personal life and then to be interviewed many times over. Many would immediately spring out and say that this isn’t the way to find a wife.
Okay, let’s talk about this concept of a wife. It is actually more than just a friend. It is a legally binding entity which will allow you to have children with. But is it any more or less than that? should a potential wife be put through the tests similar to the reality show “the bachelor”? luckily the groom did not request for any pre-marriage trial. imagine in the bachelor, the bachelor managed to screw almost any woman he wants. Women are willing to give it to him in order to win his heart. Is that barbaric?
now let’s look at the other side of the coin. For all stories, there is always both sides. From the groom perspective, he knows he is a thoroughbred so why couldn’t he up his ante a bit more and go for the best? plus if he was to get to know people from the ground up how could he determine if the woman was aiming for his wealth or himself? at least using this method he knows all the woman knows of his wealth and can at least find the best among those aiming for his wealth, right?
