today’s newspaper you can see two interesting articles. One which talks about how MAS is going to increase its fare all over the place from 1st January 2006. They have been bleeding money and now they think that by increasing the fare the moronic masses would continue to use MAS to fly to their destination? weird theory but i guess only MAS can conjure up such theories.
On the other hand, you see how Air Asia continually to expand its east malaysia sector intending to make kota kinabalu its east malaysia hub. it has reduced the cost of air travel since its inception 4 years ago and continually to expand its destination while at the same time, continually to grow its profits. See how different the theory is with MAS?
It is like somehow MAS is digging a hole and Air Asia is using that soil that was dug out to build a mountain. So sooner or later, they are going to be so far apart that it is difficult to pull MAS back to ground zero.
I think perhaps complementing each other is of no use. They should tear MAS apart and ask Air Asia to fly international destination which MAS is currently doing. That way many businessmen would think malaysia is a low costs country to do business for everything.
You ever notice that it is always the second that does well? it is like proton and perodua. Proton is almost dead and perodua is going up and up. Celcom/TMNet is eroding while Maxis keeps on climbing.
